Just Buy Your Veges At The Market

The Green Party is getting headlines by complaining about the markup that supermarkets make on fresh produce. They suggest that the Government should impose a code of conduct to control prices.
Haven't they heard of competition?
People have a chose where they buy their produce. Instead of a supermarket, they can go to a green-grocer or shop at the Farmer's Market. Or best of all, grow their own.

  1. I agree with both you and the Green Party!! I'm a big fan of the farmers' market but I also recognise not all people have the luxury of being able to shop on a Saturday morning. Also, the government needs to take some responsibility for the growing obesity problem, particularly the relationship between low-incomes and eating habits.

  2. I think both being Green and having a healthy weight are a matter of personal responsibility. People do not get obese unless they eat too much. Some in the Green Party are "water-melons": green on the outside and red on the inside.
APD, I disagree with you about this but I think that your blog is one of the best in Dunedin.
